Starry Night
In Year One, we really enjoyed looking carefully at the painting "The Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh. We talked about what we could see in the painting, including colours and shapes.
We explored how Vincent Van Gogh painted the starry sky. We painted stars and swirls of sky using thick paint and showing expressive brush marks.
We also made little buildings and painted trees that we can see around our school. Finally we put all the artwork from Lilac, Yellow and Turquoise classes together to make one big picture: "Starry Night at Garden Suburb Infant school"
