Garden Suburb Infant School

Year One Home Learning

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you are all keeping well!

Please find attachments with suggested activities to help you and your child with the home learning. We have provided you with a learning pack and an exercise book. Please record the learning in the exercise books provided.

Each section contains suggestions for learning activities. Please remember not to do all the activities in one go… just pick and choose which ones to do during the week. You may like to repeat the activities as that will help their learning too.

Please keep the pack provided as you will be using the sounds, words and numbers for the weeks to come. You were also given a list of useful websites to use at home  - please click here to access links to these websites as well as links to help promote physical activity.

Wishing you all well,

The Year One Team

Week 2 - w/c 30.03.20

We hope you are all keeping well!

You should now be able to upload the things you are doing to Tapestry so we can keep in touch and give you guidance. Take photographs of the things you write, draw and make so you can upload. Don’t forget the physical activities; films and photos of those would be great! We can also see the work you are saving on Purple Mash which has been lovely to see!

Stay safe,

The Year One Team

*** 21/04/20 - Good Morning Year One, we hope you are all well and are ready to start your week! We spotted a small mistake on our weekly activities in the Maths section - it has now been corrected! We look forward to seeing what you have achieved this week. Keep in touch!

 Week 4 - 27th April - 1st May

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank to all the parents that have made contact with us so far.

We have really enjoyed seeing how you are getting on via Tapestry and receiving work via Purple Mash.  If you haven't managed to let us know how your child is getting on or to send us any photos or images of their work, please do contact us as soon as possible - we would love to hear how all the children are doing.

Our school message is “be kind to yourself”. We set home learning tasks as suggested activities you could do with your child, have a go at an activity from each subject, but please don’t feel pressured to get everything done. Your well-being is important.

Week 5 - 4th May-8th May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you are keeping well, we have really enjoyed having the chance to speak with so many of you, we will try to call everybody over the coming weeks!

This week we have included a picture of “Independent Iris” one of our learning behaviour animals beside tasks we think your child may be able to have a go at doing independently, or after some initial support to start them off.

Have a good week and remember – you don’t have to do all the activities! Just as many as you feel able to.

Stay safe.

The Year One Team

Week 6 - 11th May - 15th May

We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend! We will continue to try to make contact with you. Please do try to upload something onto Tapestry, even if its just a photo of something you have enjoyed doing together as a family.

Stay Safe!

The Year 1 Team

Week 7 - 18th May - 22nd May

This week look out for Resilient Rupert hiding in the home learning sheets! We would really like this learning behaviour to be the focus for this last week before the half term holiday. So – whenever you feel like you don’t want to do any more, or that you can’t do it - Remember : Resilient Rupert would like you to persevere! Try to do as many activities as you can but feel free to pick through and find the ones that interest you the most.
Have a great week and remember to get outside to have some exercise and fresh air!

Stay Safe!
